Join us in our mission to improve health and well-being throughout Greater Worcester.

Who is the Coalition?

The Coalition for a Healthy Greater Worcester is a valued partner of the Worcester Department of Public Health. We unite individuals and organizations around health concerns that impact quality of life in Greater Worcester.

Our Mission

To promote the shared learning, reflection, and broad engagement that improves community decision-making, health, and well-being for residents of Greater Worcester.

The Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is a regional strategic plan for addressing health disparities, directing resources, and setting a clear path toward health improvement. This plan informs the use of resources for the health department, hospitals, and health plans, and all organizations that have a stake in improving health for the residents of Worcester and the surrounding communities.

The Coalition’s role is to ensure community engagement that is universally inclusive and representative of the diverse organizations, agencies, and residents of the region. We provide a mechanism for funding toward CHIP initiatives, and we build accountability by tracking and evaluating progress toward outcomes.

What is the CHIP?

Who is the CHIP for?

The CHIP is for you. It is for organizations, institutions, community groups, and individuals. The plan was made by the community and is meant to guide resources and investment to improve the health and wellbeing of our region. This CHIP encompasses the towns of Grafton, Shrewsbury, West Boylston, and the City of Worcester.
